Neues CEN Project cMap zur Thema Produktklassifikation |

Das SBZ-EB ist Projektpartner eines neuen Projekts der europäischen Normierungsorganisation CEN. Das Projekt cMap fokussiert auf die Entwiclung einer Vorgehensmweise zur Abbildung der gängigen Produktklassifikationen eCl@ss, GPC, CPV und UNSPSC zur Unterstützung normierter Produktbeschreibungen für die optimierte Abwicklung elektronischer Geschäftsprozesse im Internet.
cMap conducts a study on the mapping among product classification systems. These complex systems of codes enable companies to group their products according to their business needs. For example with these codes a company can specify if their product belongs to breads , wrenches, or live horses, for internal use within the company and/or in eBusiness applications with its trading partners. There are many different classification systems in use in the world. When companies trade on different markets they may face requirements to use more than one product classification system simultaneously. Should these companies adapt their systems to a new classification? Should they invest time, money and change their data models? Should they re-classify their products? Or is there a mapping service available which provides the most appropriate matching class code(s) in the other system(s) without the need to implement that system. cMap builds on the CC3P project and further develops the work done in 2009-2010 with the following activities: - Finalise the mappings that had been set among product classification systems of CPV, eCl@ss, GPC and UNSPSC;
- Describe the mapping principles and guidelines in order to enable amapping update process for new releases;
- Define the architecture for a standardized classification collaboration E-Business platform;
- Analyse and describe a collaborative maintenance process.
